(NASHVILLE, Tennessee) -- Rachael Lampa fans were concerned to see the 220/Universal recording artist in need of medical attention on the October 10th episode of NBC’s hit series, The Sing-Off. Suffering from acute laryngitis, it was initially uncertain if Lampa would be able to perform with her group, The Collective, leading to urgent medical care.
“Monday night was quite a rush to watch,” said Lampa, of the performance that was pre-taped in September. “I wasn't sure how it was going to sound. It was all such a blur at the time so it was a pleasant surprise to see that it came across well and the judges were happy with the performance!”
The Dove Award winning recording artist, whose latest album All We Need was released on September 27th, is competing this season with The Collective, a group of Nashville vocalists formed specifically for the series by Jeremy Lister of Season 2 runner-up Street Corner Symphony. The series, which brings together a cappella groups from around the nation who compete each week for the votes of the viewers, is hosted by Nick Lachey and features the judging panel of Ben Folds, Sara Bareilles and Boyz II Men’s Shawn Stockman.
“Being on The Sing-Off has been such a fun part of this whole process of getting back into the music world,” says Lampa, who is currently on the road with Group 1 Crew, Shonlock and Rapture Ruckus for this fall’s Outta Space Love Tour. “I love my group, The Collective, and it's cool to have had such a different and new experience with such beautiful and talented people.”
Tune in to NBC on tonight at 8/7c to see how Lampa and The Collective progress.
